THE PROMISED COMFORTER WITH US

THROUGHOUT the Ages, the worship of God as something or someone far off and the worship of a God who must be appealed to, petitioned or told our needs has prevented us from experiencing the presence and power of God.
Without the knowledge and understanding of God, there is no spiritual message, there is no mission and there is no spiritual life. For several thousand years. Mankind has need told about its relationship with God and how to bring God into individual’s experiences. Man can never comprehend that this subject is old. The presentation is always new, always appearing in new forms truth is not new. It is as ancient as ancient days. The Christ has been made manifest throughout all time in various forms and has appeared as many different people. They stalk through our minds, these people of the past, leaving in our minds the impression of their thoughts and act, their desires and aims, their hopes and their faith and often-time their accomplishments and failures.
They relieve the history of the ages for us, telling and retelling the struggles of mankind, its comedies, tragedies and its drama. The philosophy and the religion of all eras pass by as in review and we watch them go from freedom of inspired thoughts to their imprisonments and failures. We follow the flight of the universal light as it inspires the meditations and prayers of Buddha, shankara, Jesus, John and Paul to mention a few. We see its illumination touch the consciousness of these inspired souls and again we witness the sad spectacle of this light being chained by men in power. In the days of Krishna, probably the earliest recorded history of truth was given to the world in the from of the world “I”. Later, somewhere around A.D 800, Shan Kara culled out of the oriental scriptures the same secret and again presented it by means of the word “I”. He went even a little further than recorded teaching up to that time and said, I AM THAT I AM I AM THAT I AM, and his listeners carnally thought that here was a man who was calling himself God. But he really was not doing that at all. It was simply God announcing himself to individual consciousness.
Our Lord Jesus Christ whom the world recognised as the Master, the son of God, presented the same story and proclaimed, I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. (John 8:12). Because of that, the Jews said he made himself equal with God and thought it unseemly for him to do the works of God. So they cried crucify him! Crucify him!! (John 19:6). But what he really was saying was “I” the infinite law of being, the infinite creative principle of the universe I am your every careful to say, I can of mine own self do nothing (John 5:30). My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me (John 7:16)
Our lord Jesus Christ made a great difference between the man who was appearing as the messenger and the “I” that was presenting itself as the message. But no one was willing to appreciate this truth.
The Revelation that the “I” is GOD, that God is soul of the individual, has appreciated this truth. The revelation that the “I” is God, that God is the soul of the individual, has appeared very many times in the history of the world. Each time it has met with misunderstanding and sometimes with crucifixion.
Our lord Jesus Christ possessed this master- consciousness probably to the greatest degree ever known, but people today seldom think of Jesus consciousness. Instead those who claim to be Christians, go about shouting the name Jesus Jesus repeatedly as if the name of itself had a virtue. And they claim that the reason the name has virtue is because it was the name of the master of Galilee and therefore was imbued with his great spirit. Our lord Jesus Christ was right when he told his disciples, verily verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask of the father in my name, he will give it to you (John 16:23).
This meant not asking in the name of Jesus, but in the name of Christ. For it is this Christ that dwelt in him that he answered Phillip’s question as, believe me that I am in the father and the father in me, else believe me for the very works ask (John 14:8-12). Past records tell us that Jesus of Nazareth and the Christ were one, that the true name of this remarkable person was Jesus Christ. They tell us that this man of Galilee was the very eternal God clothed in flesh of man that men might see his glory.
Carnally, Jesus was an ideal Jew, born in Bethlehem of Judea. As a child, Jesus different but little from other children only that in past lives he had overcome carnal propensities to such and extend that e could be tempted like others and not yield . Jesus was the name of this man and it was an appropriate name for this kind of man. The word means saviour, and Jesus was in many ways than one a saviour. The word Christ means the anointed one and then it is an official title. It means master of love. We recognize the fact that Jesus Christ was the God- man of the Ages. This was a testimony of himself when he was speaking to congregation in Bethany:
“I am not sent to sit upon the throne to rule like Caesar rules, and you may tell the ruler of the Jews that I am not a claimant for this throne. Men call me Christ and God has recognized this name but Christ is not man. The Christ is universal love and love is king. This Jesus is but man who had been fitte by temptations overcome, by trial multiform to be the temple through which the Christ can manifest to men. Then hear, ye men of Israel hear look not upon the flesh it is not king. Look to the Christ within who shall be formed in every one of you, as if he is formed in me. When you have purified your hearts, by faith, the king will enter in and you will see his face.”
The fact that our lord has firmly stated that I can of mine ownself do nothing… the father that dwelled in me he does the works prove that he was referring to the Christ in him. When he said, my doctrine is not mine, but he that sent me … I can of mine own self do nothing. If bear witness of myself, my witness is not true, (John 7:16; John 5:30-31) He was speaking of what appear to the world as humanhood.
Our Lord Jesus Christ has accomplished the task that he was assigned to do he had departed this carnal world, only to give way to the comforter- the holy spirit which was directing his activity on earth. This he announced to his disciples, if ye love me, keep my commandment. And I will pray the father and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you for ever (John 14:15-10) and he told them that I go away for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you but if I depart I will send him unto you.
All though the ages, men have appeared and re-appeared with some measure of this Christ. All have not seen it in its fullness, but nearly all have seen degree of it. Laotze caught the vision and called it Teo; Abraham spoke of it as a friend, Ramakrishna called it mother Kali, Paul refer to it as the Christ within and Jesus refer to it as father- the name or term used means nothing and is of no importance. What is importance is the ability to catch the sense or feeling of an inner presence, and inner power, something higher than mere human hood, and awareness, a light or a glow within. It makes no difference what name is given it or whether it is seen as personal. It is it. It is abroad in the world today but again it is abroad only in the measure of understanding off the individual which is representing it. In this age of dispensation, this consciousness- the comforter or the holy spirit is now manifest in human form with a new name OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU, being a different person with a new mission as was predicated by our Lord Jesus Christ, “and when he comes, he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment of sin because they believe not on me (Jesus) of righteousness because I got to my father and ye see me no more; Of judgment because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot hear them now. Howbeit, when, the spirit of truth is come he will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine and shall show it unto you” (John 16:8-14).
We are true witness today that the promised comforter the Holy Spirit is now manifested in a human being now as OLUMBA OBU in the least expected town of BIAKPAN, in the Cross River State of Nigeria, Africa. There is never an ages that man has never comprehended the coming of God into manifestation in human form. God is a spirit because he is invisible yet this spirit dwells in human. He has always governed through man. We are warned that beloved believe not every spirit but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone into the world. Hereby know ye the spirit of God every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is God. (1 john 4:1-3).
Search into the wonderful work performed in Brotherhood of the cross and star and you will be convinced that the Holy Spirit does all works there. From the beginning of January to ending of December leader OLUMBA OBU works twenty four hours daily. The working formula of leader Obu in Brotherhood is love one another which is the only cord that binds the ten commandment and the only factor to set peace In the whole universe. The burning of incense, candle and use of expensive robes are not the true worship of God, rather the purification of one self awareness, consciousness by loving one another, is the awareness of the presence of God. And this is what is obtained in Brotherhood of the cross and star. Olumba Olumba Obu is not God but I that I am he is not a prophet, Jesus nor spirit but just I that I am. No one can give the true meaning of God. If anyone can define God, it would not be God; therefore we do not attention on the word God, removing your thought from person, place or thing. Think of God as the substance of all form, color, grace and outline- as the substance- and the law of all creation, including our body.
God is the substance of our being. Olumba Obu has risen above human sense of existence. The virtue of true true-God delete in him. It is true that Olumba Olumba Obu has come to this final age of dispensation not die again. Moses was assigned to teach man about the elementary truth of God- light.
This is the reason Leader O. O. Obu, when praying, he gives the glory to our lord Jesus Christ by saying let thanks and praised be given to God in the name of our lord Jesus Christ.
The glory is also given when any circular is given out by the father. Our lord Jesus Christ also came with an assignment of teaching man the secondary truth of God, but Olumba Olumba Obu has come to teach lead and bring us to the ONE WITH THE TRUTH-GOD. And now I say unto you, refrain from these men, and let them alone for if this council or these works be of men, it will come naught. But if it be of God ye cannot overthrow it lest happily ye be found even to fight against God” (Acts5:35-39).

Are now made public. Is BCS an accidental phenomenon, a Christian denomination or a novel religion? Why do members put on white, and the Leader red? Why do they not wear shoes? Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, the only authority on Brotherhood was recently interviewed by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Calabar on various issues concerning the organization. The team was led by Mrs. Mary Koffi Bassey. Below is the Full text of the interview.
NTA: We have heard so much about the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) throughout the world. This is why the NTA is prompted to have this interview with you to know more about you, and about the organization.
Having heard so much about you over the years,, one would have expected that the Olumba Olumba Obu talked about so many years ago would have been old man with grey hairs and unable to walk. But it is now surprising that as we look at you, it appears as if you look younger every year. You look younger this year than you were when I saw you last year. Is there any special thing you are doing to yourself spiritually o get younger and younger while the older people are getting older and weaker? We do no understand. It is a marvel to us.

NTA: You are sure that may be in the next 100 years you might look younger than this?
LEADER O. O. O.: That I do not know.
NTA: How was the BCS conceived? Is it the product of your thought? What is its origin? Did you just wake-up and start hearing about it?
LEADER O. O. O.: BCS has no origin. It has always existed. For me, I KNEW MYSELF RIGHT FROM BIRTH. I have never learned from anybody. Never have I attended any church or prayer house, or institution.
NTA: Ete, when you were younger, we are aware that you had other things you were doing other than church work. But later on in life you started this church work which has now become a bi ministry. How did you suddenly find yourself doing it? How did you know that you ha to do it.
LEADER O. O. O.: I have already told you that I knew myself when I was not up to three years old. What I am now doing is my mission on earth. I did not come to do any other thing than what I am doing. No one teaches me. All my teachings are supernatural. I have not learnt it from the Bible either.
NTA: How many years ago did you start the BCS?
LEADER O. O. O.: Right from the day I was born. If you have read “I AM THAT I AM”, you will learn how the sight of a blind woman was restored on carrying the child Olumba who was just four days old. NTA: Ete, we are aware that BCS was started long ago when you were young. At what time did you forsake all worthy entanglements, and engagements (trading, etc.) to concentrate on full time ministry?
LEADER O. O. O.: That was January 1956. From that time till now, I became fully involved in this ministry.
NTA: Was it as from that time that people started to draw nearer when you preached.
LEADERR O. O. O.: It is not as if I had not been preaching before then. The spread can best be illustrated with the introduction of a new business. The first batch of products will go out for test-marketing; and satisfied patronizers will recommend the product to others. NTA: A lot of your members say the Leader is a Spirit. So many others say he is not just a Spirit, e is God. In fact 90 percent of your members say you are the real God. Now that we have different version of your personality, to an unbeliever, who will you say you are?
LEADER O. O. O.: It is only the Holy Spirit that can reveal the Leader’s true identity to you. No human being an. You cannot know me except the Spirit reveals you to me. What I am now doing is my mission on earth. I did not come to do any other thing than what I am now doing. This is the time of the Holy Spirit. When you abide in the flesh, you cannot understand anything, but when you abide in the spirit, the spirit will reveal everything to you.
NTA: That is true but I know the Spirit ha told you who you are from birth, or even before you were born. Being that you know who you are, we want you to tell us. Maybe really knowing who you are helps us acquire the Holy Spirit.

LEADER O. O. O.: you have not entered. White is a prerequisite for God’s Kingdom. We are not concerned with churchism. We are concerned about the Kingdom of God. You will recall that the disciples of John the Baptist went to him that the should teach them how to pray. The disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ also went to Christ, and asked that they be taught how to pray. That request resulted in our Lord’s Prayer. Read Matthew 6:9-11:
“This, then, is how you should pray: our Father in Heaven: may your holy name be honoured; May your kingdom come; May your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven . Give us today the food we need.”
I have not come into the world to joke. My prayer, gesture, etc. are all the words of God. This is that long-expected Kingdom.

NTA: We have also discovered that all your adherents, here and abroad, even during winter walk barefoot, especially when they are coming to church and whenever they are in this heavenly attire. Why do they go barefoot? Is there any special significance in going barefoot? Why do they not wear shoes?

Listen because you can learn, I am going to teach you. I have to teach the whole world. My duty is to teach. I am Supernatural Teacher. I have to teach the whole world to know God. All along, people have only made claims with their lips but do not know Him. Neither the blacks nor the white know Him. If you were to know God, you would not question his work. My work is to teach, I give NTA 100 percent as an outstanding medium of propagating the news of God’s Kingdom. You are doing the work of God. You have also entered the Kingdom of God.

LEADER O. O. O.: With the white in Spirit. The above Bible portion subsumes that as you walk on the ground, you are walking on God, while sitting, you are sitting on God. It is for this reasons that e do not wear shoes.
NTA: Which means in any part of the world God is there and as such it is not right to wear shoes?

LEADER O. O. O.: I do go out. The scripture says there is time for everything. There was a time when I used to go from house to house. There was a time when I used to walk from here ( 34 Ambo Street, Calabar) to 26 Mbukpa Road, Calabar. It is only within short time (after 1989 August Pentecostal Assembly) that I have stopped to receive visitors in the vestry. Hitherto, I had been attending to people. There was a time that I used to wash people’s feet (during Ordination). But now I have stopped doing so. The scripture has apportioned time for everything, when they should stop. Indeed I have no private life! I eat anything.

NTA: You mean it is not good for me to eat meat?
LEADER O. O. O.: (With exclamation) I say, read Genesis 1:29! It is abominable. Animals are your brothers. If you had the opportunity to read through one of our documents here (Brotherhood) you will shed tears on realizing that you are kicking against God. You will realize that you are not worshipping God. I HAVE COME TO TEACH THE WHOLE WORLD TO KNOW THE FATHER; MY FATHER, YOUR FATHER, OUR FATHER. You are within the Father. God is nearer to you than the tongue to the teeth. Or do you think that God is in the outer space or at Jerusalem. GOD IS WITHIN YOU.
In BCS you cannot teach somebody to follow you to the mountain, or to Jerusalem. Why should you? Kneel down and talk to your Father and He will answer you .Do you know that? All the time you are talking about church, church and church. What do you mean by church? God is Omnipresent. He is in your room, inside your car and every where. This is the basis of the pride of members of Brotherhood. In ignorance a lot of you refer to God as Beelzebub, or “that thing!” God is every where. If you are sick, as a child of God, kneel down and pray and you will get well. Anything you say will happen. It does not require candle or any kind of concoction.
I will conduct you round all my rooms, like I have always done to visitors so that you can see for yourselves that we do not hide anything. In some places, when a woman is under menstruation she is forbidden from entering certain places. Why? Who caused the menstruation? There is no law in BCS there is only one injunction: “love ye one another.” You can eat anything or choose to do without anything. Nothing poses a problem.
